Loki was walking down the road, lost in thought. She had only been on Midgard for about a week, and she didn’t really know where she was. She panicked when she ran into someone’s hard back unexpectedly. “Oh, pardon,” She muttered, looking up to face the tall, pale man….

"I… Do I know you? It’s just… You look so familiar," she shakes her head and states up at him. "What’s your name?" She asks, pushing her hair over her shoulder.

"My name is Loki," he said with a small bow. The more he looked at her the more familiar she became. "I… Is your name Loki?"

She nodded slowly. Loki wasn’t exactly a common name, and they held striking resemblance to each other. “It is…” She grinned, “I’ve never met someone else with my name. Are we what they call twins?” She asked, slightly confused.

He studied her face, letting out a slight squint. “Possibly… Do you by chance have two brothers or sisters with names similar to Thor and Baldur?” He said, crossing his arms

"Yes my sisters have those names, though Baldur is dead now…" She trailed off.

Loki let out a soft chuckle, running a hand through his slicked back hair, smiling down at her. “Then I would say, my dear, that we are not in fact twins, but parallels…”

"Oh? Baldur remains?" She smiled. "Then I wonder what else would be different." She says quietly, almost to herself.

"Baldur has died for me, but come back for it was not my hand that befell him. It was Thor that threw brother from my tower," he said, sorrow tainting his words as he looked away briefly

"Thor?" She said confused, but note his sadness. "I’m sorry, you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to."

He nodded slowly, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Come. Let us get some tea and discuss things further.”

She nodded and walked beside him. “That sounds nice,” she smiled, following him to a nearby café.

He held the seat for her when they reached the cafe, helping her back into the table. “So tell me, are you all sisters, where you are from?”

"We are indeed all female. We are from Asgard, I mean, I am from Jotunheim, but I try not to consider myself anything other than Æsir." She explains. "You said we are parallels. Do we have any differences in that way, besides the sexes?"

"Perhaps. You tell me about your life and I shall tell you about mine," he hummed, ordering them both tea when the waitress arrived

"Mm," she nods. "I’ve never been married. I have no children." She shrugs, not really sure what to say. She’s never been asked to simply talk about her life before. "Um…" Loki purses her lips in thought. "I played alot of tricks on Thor growing up and she always seemed to bounce back up from the things I did to her," she chuckled lightly. "I was really mean, to her especially. She was sort of my scape goat."

Loki chuckled softly, rubbing his hand over his eyes. “Ah. We are quite different now. I suppose there are many things we differ on.”

It had started 6 months ago. One person had come down with something, which four more had gotten the disease. And so it had passed on… For about a month at least until a cure was found, a vaccine distributed. The worry of the zombie apocalypse died before it could live. Everyone hesitantly went back to believing everything was okay, that they’d dodged a bullet.

Then it was the meat. Tainted meat was distributes through the supermarkets like it was milk. Milk was also tainted. The animals showed no signs of infection, there was no way to test it. Millions died, thousands falling into sleep so deep that many starved to death once they were thrown onto the pile of the dead.
Then farms suddenly stopped producing, almost everything dying in the earth. Those with their own home gardens guarded it with their lives.

Loki took a drag from his cigarette, snorting as he blew the smoke over the stick. One of the few things that survived the decimation was tobacco. Not that good for eating, but still satisfying when burnt. He readjusted his shotgun on his back. New York City was dead, weeds starting to grow through the cracks in the pavement. He jumped onto the top of an abandoned Taxi, looking around.

He stepped around another dead body, sighing softly before bending down to check the pockets for anything. He swallowed down, trying not to throw up.
